As far back as 1783, the United States promoted an
isolationist policy promising to keep
out of Europe and, later , expecting Europe to keep out of America.
This led to the Monroe Doctrine (originated by President
James Monroe in 1823), that any intervention by foreign powers in politics on
this side of the pond would be a hostile act against the United States.
Department of Expanding Vocabulary: Dotard - an old person, especially one who has become weak or senile. A man in his dotage. The word dates back to the mid to late 14th century Middle English.
After Trump's latest tirade/sanctions against North Korea, Kewpie Kim shot back that he will: "surely and definitely tame the mentally
deranged U.S. dotard with fire." Kim also called Trump a "rogue and a
gangster fond of playing with fire, rather than a politician."
Another day in the playground.
